Lab 3 - Resume and Attachment file

Objectives

Wesell Computers is looking for an entry-level sales person to sell their personal computers, MACs, and peripherals.
To apply, email your resume.
 

1.    Create a Resume using Microsoft Word's Resume Wizard

1.    Start Microsoft Word. Click on File, New, and under the Other Documents tab, select Resume Wizard and click ok

You will get the following screen, click next.

Select the Professional Style and click Next

Select Entry-Level and click Next

Fill in you name, address, phone, and email and click Next


 

Check at least the boxes: Objective, Education, Interests and activities, Work experience, and Volunteer experience,
you may include others if you like, then click Next

If any of the headings on this screen apply to you, add them as well, then click Next

If you want to add headings, do so here, then click Finish

You now have a template in which you should fill in your personal information.

When complete, click File, Save to save your file on your diskette. If you do not have a diskette,
you can save it in My Documents.
 

2.    Email me your resume.

Log in to your wilkes1 acccount using webmail.

Compose a message. The subject of the message should be "Job Application".

In the text portion of the message, you should include a paragraph discussing the job that you are applying for, stating that your resume is attached.
In a second paragraph, you sell yourself. State why you should get this job, why you are the most qualified, etc.

Remember, your signature will be appended to this email. Is it an appropriate signature for a potential employer to see?
You may want to change it accordingly or create an alternate identity.

Next, you are going to attach the resume.

Click on the attachments button:

You will be taken down to the bottom of the message area:


Click on Browse and select your resume file

Click Open then attach

Look at the bottom of the message to see your file attached.

Then send the message to me: bracken@wilkes.edu.

3.    You will receive your grade via email as a reply to your message.
